SCV Charity Chili Cook-Off

This Years Event

The Santa Clarita community will once again will be asked for their support for great non-profits, while having a great time. This year’s event is sure to be our best. This is founder Nicole Stinson's 7th successful year, whom will be working hard and diligently to bring in sponsors, donations with her co-chair Steve Portaro to help make the event go off without a hitch. We will be benefiting two amazing shelters in our area that are saving the lives of animals These are animals that can bring so much joy and love to kids, families and seniors, an insurmountable value.
The event is being held at The Oaks Club at Valencia on Thursday, March 21st, 2019 at 6:00 pm featuring live band, DJ and dancing along with a live and silent auction, kids’ corner and of course Chili cookers far and wide looking forward to presenting their prized recipe in hopes of winning first, second or third prize, People Choice Award or Judges Choice, all critiqued by our local celebrity judges.
Our goal has no cap and we are benefiting two charities this year, so we need twice the donation power to help both amazing causes with their continued success. Again, all proceeds will be benefiting the charities, please read about their causes below.

This Years Charities

Shelter Hope Pet Shop We are a 501c non-profit, charitable, volunteer-based organization devoted to: aiding in and facilitating shelter and rescue pet adoptions; promoting education and awareness within the communities we serve; and making a positive impact in the lives of shelter and rescue animals and their adopters, as well as local shelters. Shelter Hope Pet Shop is the premier source for adoptable dogs within the community. We help save the lives of hundreds of dogs each year. By doing so, we will also have a positive impact with helping to decrease the number of potential unhealthy puppy mill puppies purchased from for-profit and inhumane businesses. We hope to abolish all puppy mill pet shops, help find homes for the countless pets in our shelters that face euthanasia, and educate the public on how we can all help reduce future shelter population.
Lange Foundation and St. Bonnie's Sanctuary Every year in Los Angeles County, thousand of pets are taken to animal shelters simply because they drastically outnumber the homes available to them. They spend their last few days in crowded cages before many of them are euthanized. As their lives silently end, thousands more are being born who will endure the same fate. The Lange Foundation (a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization) was founded in 1993 by Gillian Lange, recipient of the 1980 City of Los Angeles St. Francis of Assisi award for her rescue work with impounded animals since 1974. Lange founded the Amanda Foundation in 1975. To date the two Foundations have rescued and placed over 27,000 cats, dogs and horses who would otherwise have been destroyed in overcrowded public animal shelters.
